Drivers Ed Parents Class
Required for all Teen Drivers

Parent Class Information:
- Free for CMSC Students: The Parent Class is free for parents or guardians of registered CMSC students. Once your child’s enrollment is complete, you can log into the Student Portal and register for the Parent Class at no cost.
- For Non-CMSC Students: For parents of students not enrolled at CMSC, the class fee is $99. When registering, please add “NS” before your child’s name to indicate they are not a CMSC student.
Important RMV Policy:
At least one parent or guardian must attend the Parent Class before your teen can begin driving lessons. The class is valid for 5 years and can be applied to any other siblings, as long as proof is provided.
If you have attended a Parent Class with CMSC or another school in the past, you can apply that credit by emailing us at ourso@cmscautoschool.com.

Teens are required to complete 12 hours of driving, 6 hours of observation, and 40 hours of supervised practice with a parent or guardian. Additionally, to finish the Driver’s Ed program, they must complete 30 hours of classroom instruction.
How long is the parent class valid in Massachusetts?
The certificate is valid for five years, so parents don’t need to retake it for multiple children.
